Now that the holidays seem to be surrounding me everywhere I have started noticing some unique and beautiful decoration ideas.
I love these little Birds. They are cute and creative and bring a little feeling of spring into the house in the cold winter months.
This idea for stockings makes a statement with the piano and also uses the idea of birdhouses. I like the green color theme... it feels both happy, spring-like and seasonal all at once.
Picking one main color and using it to tie your decorations together makes for a nice cohesive look. I collect glass candle sticks and I love how just adding green to the table makes it feel seasonal with a clean modern look.

Blog Blog Blog
I am still definitely learning the details of how to be a blogger! Hopefully I begin catching on soon! I am in the process of updating my site to better reflect my work and inspiration. I truly love being able to bring a little happiness into people's lives through custom designs. Hopefully I am able to spread the word!

Terreriums
This past spring I attempted to create my first terrarium. I think they are such a great way to bring a little piece of the outdoors in. Mine has finally managed to die, as I do not seem to have a green thumb. Here is what I was hoping it woudl look like!
Might have to try again.

Hiking
One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to go hiking. There is a nice little trail near our house and we took our nephew this weekend.

This Vintage clothing store in Portland has gone Mobile! The owner has restored a vintage double decker bus and converted it into a mobile store! I thought this was a great a unique concept.

John and I each wrote down the things we love about each other and I made them into signs to put out at the reception on the Guest Book table.

Cool Brand Identity
I thought this new cafe did a great job of branding itself. All the parts are very holistic and they are simple but modern.

Downy Touch of Comfort
Limited-edition Downy bottle packs comfort for kids
-- Packaging Digest, 4/1/2010 12:00:00 AM
In celebration of Downy's 50th anniversary, Procter & Gamble (P&G) is offering the softener in limited-edition packaging and has pledged to donate five cents from every purchase to provide quilts to hospitalized children.
The HDPE bottles, supplied by Graham Packaging Inc. (www.grahampackaging.com), will be used for its original scent, April Fresh, which P&G brand manager Marty Vanderstelt says is still the brand's best selling scent, and will feature specially designed in-mold labels.
P&G had considered several decorating options, including simply adding a sticker to Downy bottles, before choosing to redesign the bottle label.
“But we wanted to design something that would bring the program to life on shelf and be easily recognizable as a special package,” Lauren Hurwitz, senior design manager at P&G, recalls.
Working with its design agency, Landor Associates (www.landor.com), P&G created a label that visually represented a quilt with enough whimsy to evoke an emotional connection to childhood. Multi-Color Corp. (www.multicolorcorp.com) then used P&G and Landor Associates' design to produce the in-mold labels.

Stupid Ugly Monkey - I hate him
This site (Tiny Art Director) is hysterical. I like this one in particular. Very amusing to hear a kids take on how the pictures should be drawn! She gives her dad a 'Design Brief' and then critiques his work!
The Brief: A Monkey
The Critique: Stupid ugly angry monkey. I hate him.
Job Status: Rejected
Additional Comments: His tummy and his belly button and his eyebrows and his hands and his feet. And his head too

Yay Denim
For those who know me... you know I am all about the denim. I had a denim purse (still own it) I carried for over 5 years despite my fiance's deep hatred of it! I love that Lanvin/Acne is bringing Denim back in 2010... in a much more fashionable way too. I would totally rock this dress.
Cool Packaging
I thought this new energy drink had a really cool identity. I like that is more designed than typical energy drinks and that they use color to differentiate between flavors. I would want to try this just for the package!
